The Harris Family Foundation has proudly delivered the following major projects.
Our Projects
STREAT Youth Training Academy
In 2013, the Harris family purchased a property in Collingwood and gifted its use to STREAT for 50 years. The property is now STREAT’s headquarters and has been redeveloped into a youth training academy which trains and supports 365 young people each year.
REACH ‘Dream Factory’
In 2001, the Harris family purchased the Dream Factory for REACH in Collingwood to hold its positive and preventative mental health programs for young people aged 10 to 25 each year through unique, youth-led school workshops and community programs.
Harris Housing Project
In this first-of-its-kind housing project, Launch Housing and the Harris Family Foundation delivered 47 architecturally designed studios to people experiencing long-term homelessness on government land in Melbourne's West.
Epworth Healthcare
The Harris family are long-term supporters of the Epworth. Having made donations to fully re-furbish and upgrade, the Paediatric unit, the Maternity ward and the ICU at Epworth Freemasons. As well as donating much needed medical equipment and staff scholarships.
Riverside Grammar
The Harris Family Foundation provided funding to upgrade the facilities at the Riverside campus, as well as purchasing two buses to transport their students. In line with the school's real life learning philosophy, the renovations were carried out by students and staff.
Dollars and Sense, Australian Social Enterprises
The Harris Family commissioned the book ‘Dollars and Sense’ as a resource to improve Australia’s understanding of Social Enterprises and their potential to harness our capitalist system to deliver social outcomes.
HFC Kennedy Community Centre
The Harris family are delighted to support the development of the new Kennedy Community Centre in Dingley which will create a centre of sporting excellence for the Hawthorn Football Club, its staff, and supporters but also significantly, for the whole community.
